Workshop Schedule and Registration Guidelines

Date: 22nd February 2022

Venue: ONLINE MODE

  • Four (04) parallel workshops will be organized on the cutting edge technologies.
  • Duration of each workshop is of 6 hours, divided into 4 sessions of 1.5 hours each.
  • The complete plan of talk and the outcome will be updated shortly.
  • Faculty members and students (UG/PG/PhD) can participate.
  • The Workshop registration fee is INR 1000 or USD 20 per workshop for a professional from academia/industry. However, for the workshop on Electrical Vehicle, the registration fee is INR 3000 or USD 60.
  • These workshops are free for the authors of the accepted papers (provided one has paid the registration fee), Conference Attendees and students. However, registration is mandatory to join the workshop.
  • The last date for registration is 15th 19th February 2022.
  • Participation to the workshop requires mandatory registration.
  • Follow the registration links to register for your chosen course.
  • Certificate of attendance will be given to all the registered participants.

Energy Management of xEVs: Optimal Control, Estimation and Decision Perspectives The Tutorial is offered by Prof. Siddhartha Mukhopadhyay, EE, IIT Kharagpur (http://www.facweb.iitkgp.ac.in/~smukh/) supported by his senior research students Dhrupad Biswas, Desham Mitra and Susenjit Ghosh of the EV research group at EE, IIT Kharagpur. Prof. Mukhopadhyay has experience of work and interaction with a number of national industrial organizations, namely GM, USA, Tata Motors Pune, EATON India Pune, ARAI, Pune, KPIT, Pune, HBL Power Systems, Hyderabad, as well as national and international R&D organizations like WMG, UK and TUM, Germany on related areas. The team also has experience of working on various facets of xEV energy management including development of algorithms as well as embedded software and hardware for automotive power trains, battery management and diagnostics for the last six years. He and his students have several research publications in the area. Kalman filter - A journey to its present status and its MATLAB implementation (Hands-on with MathWorks Team) Brief/ Summary:
These sessions primarily cover the topic of Kalman filter design using MATLAB with the necessary motivation, design, and one of its use cases.
Session 1 covers classical control design using MATLAB and this session ends with LQR control which motivates the need for Kalman filter.
Session 2 introduced Kalman filter and covered topics related design of a couple of Kalman filters.
Session 3 covers Model Predictive control which is a high-level control algorithm that uses a Kalman filter to estimate the current state of the plant.
Session 4 shall be Reinforcement Learning/ Q&A.
